Annotation

Teenagers are the primary users of social media and the internet. Objective: To identify the characteristics of the development of adolescent slang used on social media and its impact on speech culture and the Russian language as a whole. Hypothesis: The speech culture of high school students is formed primarily through social media. Methods and Materials: A total of 376 respondents participated in the study. The study was conducted using questionnaires and M. Schneider's methodology. Results: The study of high school students allowed the authors to highlight the positive and negative aspects of the use of internet slang in adolescent communication. In the article, the authors point to the importance of speech culture in developing communication skills in high school students.
