Speaking at the first meeting of the Council for the Development of Artificial Intelligence in Astana, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev ordered the creation of a new research university specializing in artificial intelligence.
The university should function as a center for science, education, innovation, and international communications.
In Kazakhstan, over 63,000 students are studying IT programs at 79 universities. Since last year, the subject "Artificial Intelligence" has been widely introduced into curricula.
Under the AI-Sana program, over 440,000 students in the country have already received specialized certificates in AI.
