Mentor's Day is celebrated for the first time in Russia on March 2. The holiday was established by Presidential Decree in 2025.
The choice of date is not accidental: March 2 marks the birthday of Konstantin Dmitrievich Ushinsky (1824-1871), the founder of scientific pedagogy in Russia.
The date was set in order to consolidate the status and enhance the role and prestige of the mentor, as well as demonstrate the importance of mentoring at the state level and popularize mentoring activities.
