The III International Student Media Conference is taking place in the Ethnomir ethnographic park and museum of Russia, organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and the Russian Technical University MIREA.
The conference brought together 100 foreign students studying in Russia and participating in the development of student media or running their own blog about studying in Russia. The event involved representatives from 36 countries from 26 cities of the Russian Federation and 50 universities.
The conference is an opportunity for participants to gain knowledge in the field of media production and advice from professionals, offer ideas for their projects, and share experiences with each other while working in teams.
On the final day of the event, young media professionals will present their work in teams on creating videos about the culture and values of Russia, and will also be able to compete in an individual competition, presenting their work in 5 nominations: photo, video, text, design or multimedia project.
The best team and winners in individual nominations will go on a press tour to Teriberka, a village in the Murmansk region on the shore of the Barents Sea.
The information partner of the gathering is the project "Adventures of Foreigners in Russia" - the main resource for those who study or plan to study at Russian universities. Here, current news, analysis of laws, useful articles, competitions, achievements of foreign students and more are published. It is on the resources of the project "Adventures of Foreigners in Russia" that media coverage of the gathering will be implemented.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Russia is holding the gathering for the third time. Previous events were held in Serpukhov and Volgograd, they were attended by 200 foreign students from all over the country. Many of them, after the forum, became professional journalists, bloggers and work in the field of international relations.
