October 5th is World Teacher's Day!

05.10.2025

Teacher's Day was established in 1966 after the adoption of the Recommendation "On the Status of Teachers" at a conference of UNESCO and the International Labor Organization. The document has become an international standard defining the working conditions of teachers.

Today, more than 100 countries around the world celebrate this date. In some countries, including Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia, the holiday coincides with October 5th. In Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan, Teacher's Day is celebrated on the first Sunday of October, in Uzbekistan on October 1, and in Moldova on March 7.

Interestingly, in 2025, pedagogical specialties took the second place in popularity among applicants, which highlights the growing interest in the teaching profession.
